It is the conference and arts centre at the Waterfront in Belfast city opened in 1997.
Belfast city has since that time grown to be a major destination for both European and Global conferences, arts events and business meetings.The waterfront hall has contributed significantly to that growth hosting nearly 2500 conferences, and welcoming close to 5 million visitors.
Amongst the facilities within this award winning building (including being awarded the worlds second best conference center in 2002! ) are the following;
– Large Auditorium (seats 2,241 and is based on the Berlin Philharmonic Hall),often used for performance by the Ulster Ochestra.
– Smaller studio theatre (seats 380 visitors)
– Gallery for art and photographic display
– Bars and restaurant (with views over the lagan river),lovely on a quiet sunny afternoon.

Interesting fact :The dome of the waterfront hall is coated in a special copper layer. In time,with the lovely drops of irish rain this will turn a shade of green , apparently matching the dome of the Belfast City Hall.
